DIY Residential Carpet Tile
Hi. Welcome to the World of Floorigami.
It’s hard to believe, but this is all you need:
Let's do this.
PrepEvery work of art begins with a fresh canvas. Move the furniture, pets and children out of the way. Sweep it clean and confirm you have a structurally sound, clean, level and dry hard surface. If you’re creating a Floorigami area rug, we’ve got you covered. Visit flooragami.com for pattern ideas and inspiration. |

MeasureThis masterpiece will begin as close to the center of the room as possible. Use a tape measure to find the center of your two longest, straightest walls. Measure a line from each until they intersect and mark the center. Now, snap a chalk line through the center of your room, dividing your room in half. (Chalk lines are easy and kind of fun. For reals.) You will install half the room before moving on to the other half. |

Design & PlaceStart from the center of the room and lay out your design using the directional arrows on the back of each tile. For larger rooms, peel and stick the first tile, but continue laying out the remainder of the tiles with the liner still on the adhesive until your full pattern is achieved. Use a pyramid technique as you add tiles to give you multiple alignment checks. As you approach the wall, you’ll have tiles that don’t fit. It’s okay. We’ll cut those later for a perfect fit. Or, feel free to leave a border for a stylish large rug look. |

Attach & CutWhen your design is finalized, it’s time for the fun.Starting from the middle, simply peel the liner from the back and position each tile snuggly to the next tile. Slide each tile into position so you don’t trap any fibers between them, and be sure those arrows are still pointing in the right direction. As you approach the wall, it’s time to cut. For simple cuts, flip the tile over and mark where it needs to be cut. Using your straight edge and carpet knife, cut the tile to size from the back. For tricky cuts, visit floorigami.com. |

Enjoy!Congratulations. You’re officially a DIY rockstar. Be sure to vacuum your carpet to pick up loose fibers. Now, quickly look around. If no one’s looking, do the most ridiculous happy dance you’ve ever done, because you’ve earned the right.
